Microsoft and AI – please solve my recruitment problem
I work for a digital company but I am a layman when it comes to AI. I might be asking a very stupid question here.
I have an AI question based on a problem which I have been observing for years.
This problem is the short listing of resumes or applications for a job.
For years, we have had recruiters and job consultants do the shortlisting manually.
And then these carefully shortlisted profiles get rejected at a high rate by the hiring managers.
In today’s world we have Microsoft which has conquered the world of AI.
Microsoft owns LinkedIn which is possible the worlds biggest and most effective recruitment solution. It definitely has the biggest database of the most updated profiles organised in the most structured manner.
I believe Microsoft acquired LinkedIn to use its vast database to train its ML and AI models.
Microsoft also has access to Open AI and has used it to make its suite of Microsoft tools like Excel super easy to use.
So why can’t Microsoft and LinkedIn still solve the problem of shortlisting resumes and applications.
Why do we still use human recruiters to sift through the resumes and shortlisting them manually. And hiring managers still continue to reject these shortlisted profiles.
What am I missing here. Someone please enlighten.
And in case, AI has already started to solve this problem, then someone please guide me to the solution.
