Happy Day – Entertainment Overload – 30/07/23
This weekend I went on an entertainment overdrive.
I saw the movie version of the book – A man called Ove. Was once again reminded; what a beautiful story it is. I want to read the book again. Tom Hanks was perfect in this role. One of those rare examples when the movie does justice to the book. And when it’s a story like this one, the visual experience is even more visceral.
I read this book called, The stationery shop of Teheran. It’s such a beautiful yet sad novel. Set against the backdrop of the 1953 coup in Iran.
I saw some Ashes cricket. The English have really taken test cricket to a whole new level. So happy for test cricket.
Went for the Barbie movie. It’s not bad. Kind of reminded me of Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. He wrote that women are better at cooperation and logically should be dominating the men and taking over the world. The women in Barbieland showed us how it’s done.
Finished watching the Night Manager. One of the few series’ that I have seen. Reminded me of the Ludlum / Forsyth type of spy thriller.
I don’t remember when I had so much entertainment over two days.
It was a happy weekend 😊😊🙏🙏
