Things that make me cry, exult, laugh or think

On this day, a guy from the tele-sales team moved into the product management team.

We have been working to make such moves happen and it gave me tremendous satisfaction and evoked some other emotions as well. Means a LOT.

Getting a product management job is hard. The candidates get filtered by stringent education and experience filters. Usually, you either move into product management from technology or other digital roles or get an offer on campus. ( ISB has clearly emerged as the top product management school by the way)

So you can understand why such movements are extremely difficult and rare. Unless one goes to school and gets a degree. Which isn’t always possible.

So we decided to put another filter. Of behavioural elements — desire, commitment and learnability. Figured out a transition plan, where the person worked on a project ( in addition to their day job by putting in extra hours). The progress would allow us to judge whether this person could make the leap eventually.

There is still a long way to go. But we took one important step forward.

This is what fulfilment means to me.
