Things that make me cry, exult, laugh or think
Today was amazing.
First, I experienced trust. Like real, genuine trust. The rare kind. The person put h**self in a vulnerable position by opening up.
Then, I got feedback. Again, real, honest feedback. The kind you can get offended by unless you understand why its a good thing ( many people don’t). This kind of feedback is either the stepping stone for trust or evidence that there is trust in the relationship. Again a great feeling.
I felt great joy. Because building trust is hard. Because I have put in a lot of thought and effort into this.
Then I had football. United routed Leeds on opening day. A stadium full of fans and not canned noise was a wonderfully pleasing sight. Last year, we had started by losing to Crystal Palace in an empty Old Trafford. 4 assists for Pogba, a hattrick for Bruno, a super goal for Greenwood and the unveiling of Varane. Joy and relief.
The most trusted way to get some laughs? Time spent with old friends revisiting all the old stories.
A moment of reflection was triggered by Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s beautiful poem – Akelepan Ka Bal Pehchaan.
