Daily Human – Ambivalent- 21/9/21

A person decides to leave the organisation. Has clear reasons. Can’t argue with that.

Then this person says – I want to come spend some time with you. I need your help and inputs for my next job.

This is a new one for me. Many ex-colleagues have reached out to me for inputs. But no one’s asked for a proper session at the time of leaving.

Was thinking. Whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Should I be mad – that you are leaving and you have the temerity to ask for this ?

Should I be asking – what do I or CaratLane gain from this ?

But then again

This is a classic Pass It Forward, right ?

Will I be happy if that person does well in the new organisation ?

I had already said yes to the person. But now I am excited about doing the session.
